Fabric Collage Workshop with Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably

About This Event

The Friends of the American Museum & Gardens invite you to join us for a very special workshop with Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably in celebration of our 65th anniversary.

This enlightening workshop will enable you to explore color, working with selected color palettes from paintings or photographs, with inspiring guidance from Kaffe and Brandon. From source material provided to the class for inspiration, you will recreate the scheme in a tactile fabric collage, discovering how the various colors work with each other and how different tones of colors can change the overall effect. Identifying which colors draw the eye, which colors recede and which colors make the picture really sing. Participants will be submerged in exploring the relationship of color and pattern through arranging fabrics in a variety of structures. You will create a collage with a harmony of texture and color that can go on to become a palette for a quilt, a needlepoint, a room etc. Limited to 25 participants.
